Science Teacher - Maternity Leave Cover

Salary Range – MPS

The Role

We are looking to appoint an individual to continue to lead our Science curriculum with real innovation, passion and an enthusiasm that will inspire learning during a period of maternity leave cover. The successful candidate will be someone who shares our commitment to providing personalised education programmes that place each learner at the center of their education.

This is a truly unique opportunity for an ambitious, inspirational and talented practitioner.

Reporting directly to the SLT, you will have direct responsibility for your subject and other various responsibilities in the day-to –day running of the Academy.

This role will suit an enthusiastic educator who wants to make a difference to disaffected learners, who will relish the opportunity to contribute to the creation of something special and to be at the beginning of a new form of educational provision. The role will need an individual who is capable of inspiring others to develop a new school and help make the vision a reality.

About You

It is likely that the successful applicant will have experience in teaching disaffected learners, or perhaps be an NQT with a real drive for working in this specialist environment and have a DfE recognised teaching qualification. You will be a dynamic and confident teacher, non-judgmental, flexible and creative in your approach. You will be a fair and collaborative worker as well as having a good knowledge of Ofsted regulatory standards and new curriculum guidance.

Learning Mentor - DT

Salary:              £16,500 - £18,500 pro rata (depending on experience)

Contract Type:  Term time only (39 weeks), plus training days

Contract Term:  Fixed term, 12 months initially; possible permanent employment on review

Are you an enthusiastic and talented individual of graduate standard? Are you looking to earn while preparing for a career as a secondary teacher, or pursuing a career within Alternative Provision Education?

The Role

The Fermain Academy is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Mentor. The successful candidate will bring with them an in-depth knowledge of Design and Technology or construction and a passion to bring our cohort of previously disaffected learners out of their shells by helping them to learn, make progress, and achieve in Design Tech.
