Pastoral Support Officer

37 hours per week, 8.30am – 4.30pm – Term Time Only

FTE Salary £16,665 (actual salary £14,894)

The Board of Governors at The Fermain Academy are looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Officer. This role requires a committed and enthusiastic individual, reporting to the Pastoral Manager.

This is a truly unique opportunity for the right candidate to come in and make a meaningful contribution to a growing academy currently forming a MAT.

The person we are looking for will:

  • have a thorough understanding and experience of safeguarding and child protection and its application and implementation
  • have experience of making referrals, writing reports and attending multi-agency meetings
  • have an understanding of young people with SEMH and complex needs
  • be able to communicate diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders
  • be able to build and maintain good relationships with students, parents and carers, staff, schools, youth workers and educational and safeguarding professionals
  • be able to manage multiple complex priority cases under pressure
  • be able to manage their own time and work to deadlines
  • have experience of handling sensitive and confidential material
  • understand and support the schools policies and ethos
  • have a high level of emotional intelligence
  • have good ICT skills (familiarity with MS Office and Arbor is desirable)
  • be able to work as part of a team
  • have a good sense of humour
  • hold a full driving license and have a car

Admin/Finance Assistant

The Board of Governors of The Fermain Academy are looking to appoint a Admin/Finance Administrator to work alongside the current Admin Assistant, under the direction of the School Business Manager (SBM).

This is a truly unique opportunity for the right candidate to come in and make a meaningful contribution to a growing academy currently forming a MAT. Candidates are encouraged to arrange a visit to see the school and speak to the Business Manager to discuss the role and the opportunity.

 

Hours of work 8.30am - 4pm Term Time only.  

Salary:                        Admin Support – FTE £15,150 (actual salary £12,808)

Purpose of job:

To assist in the provision of a comprehensive administration and financial support service to the school.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. To act as a point of contact for visitors, staff, pupils, parents, carers, outside agencies and other stakeholders. Providing advice, information, and assistance where possible either over the telephone or face to face. To provide hospitality for visitors as necessary.
  2. To provide administrative, clerical and financial support to the Head, Business Manager and staff. This will include maintenance of records, written and electronic, origination of letters, photocopying, scanning and phone calls.
  3. To administer school registration procedures in line with statutory requirements
  4. To oversee the pupil enrolment and leaver’s procedures, to add to and maintain pupil and staff databases on Arbor.
  5. To complete statutory census returns
  6. To assist in the routine administrative arrangements in relation to the recruitment and interviewing of applicants for appointments
  7. To support the Headteacher in maintaining and monitoring staff information, including absences and staff training
  8. To ensure security procedures are followed when people enter and exit the school in line with safeguarding requirements.
  9. To undertake such other duties related to the work of the school appropriate to the post as may be assigned by the Business Manager/Head.
  10. To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection.
  11. To maintain complete confidentiality at all times.
  12. To process, using HCSS, requests for services and goods from suppliers to chase progress of orders
  13. To process external invoices and cheque payments
  14. To produce internal invoices in relation to commissioning places and lettings.
  15. To produce finance reports as required including those required for the school audits
  16. To monitor and maintain stocks of supplies
  17. To update and maintain the schools asset register spreadsheet

School Cleaner

Hours per week – 10 (2 per day with hours to be agreed) Term Time only

Salary - £7.83ph

We require someone to join our team as the School Cleaner who is enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated and would like to provide a key role in maintaining our school site.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of cleaning and hold high standards of cleanliness.

Main duties will include:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager
  • Hoovering
  • Vacuuming
  • Mopping
  • Emptying Waste
  • Cleaning the Toilets, Offices and Communal Areas
  • Completing work in accordance with current legal Health and Safety requirements
  • Ensuring utilisation of appropriate warning signs i.e. wet floor signs
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by SLT/Maintenance Manager
  • Hardworking attitude is essential
