Kacey Turner

Kacey Turner – Teaching and Learning

  • Kacey understands the importance of teaching and learning at The Fermain Academy, and how this impacts upon the academic progress of the students.
  • Kacey understands why teacher’s lessons are observed and the process of recording the outcomes onto Blue Wave.
  • Kacey understands why teachers’ marking is scrutinized, and how important it is for marking to be monitored, to ensure that students know what they doing right and how they can improve.
  • Meet with parents/careers, and where appropriate, school governors to provide information tours of The Fermain Academy.
  • Meet with other student school reps regularly to discuss student leadership.

Josh Murrell

Josh Murrell – Behaviour and Welfare

  • Lead by example and model outstanding behaviour in school and in the community.
  • To understand the processes of safeguarding and reporting systems in place at the Fermain Academy.
  • Support students who may at time feel vulnerable offering support and guidance, sign-posting them to the most appropriate member of staff.
  • Represent the Fermain Academy at community events.
  • Meet with parents, carers and, where appropriate, school governors to provide information tours of the Fermain.
  • Meet with other student school reps regularly to discuss student leadership.

Britannia Thomas

Britannia Thomas – Pastoral

  • Represent the Fermain Academy at community events.
  • Gather feedback and ideas from students about break time, lunch time and enrichment activities.
  • Work with the Pastoral Coordinator to help plan FASTER (weekend and school holiday activities).
  • Show new students around school during their induction days, talk to new students about the student leader pastoral role.
  • Help new students settle in and introduce them to their peers where appropriate.
  • Visit agencies in the local area to help develop links between the Fermain and agencies offering support to young people.
  • Meet with parents, carers and, where appropriate, school governors to provide information tours of the Fermain.
  • Meet with other student school reps regularly to discuss student leadership.
  • Take a lead on informing young people and students about charity initiatives and fundraising opportunities.
